toast martinborough festival

Rain and cloud couldn’t dampen the spirits of 10,000 Toast Martinborough partygoers in New Zealand yesterday.

The annual festival of local wine, food and music was as popular as ever this year, with the $60 tickets selling out in minutes.

Alana Estate was the place to be, with thousands pouring in to catch top music acts, including the Thomas Oliver Band and Katchafire. Don McGlashan played at Ata Rangi.

Early rain cleared and, later in the afternoon, the cloud cover lifted to provide good conditions, far better than last year when gale-force winds uprooted marquees at several vineyards.

Festival-goers were jovial, easygoing and relaxed as they shuttled between the wineries.

Wow, this looks like a great Fest!
