Prague Wine Season

While we might be approaching last call for Prague’s summer beer gardens, the illustrious Czech grape harvest has just started to ripen, and numerous wine festivals, or vinobranis, are taking place around the Czech capital this month.

A tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, these boisterous celebrations invariably involve food, dancing, music and, of course, bottles and bottles of the region’s specialty booze: burcak, partly fermented wine that is very sweet and very, very potent.
